Sat Europa proudly sponsored COCOA. COCOA is a non-denominational UK registered charity founded in 1995. Its mission is to improve conditions for babies and children in Chinese orphanages.

Why China’s orphanages need your money:
- Every year, around 30 million babies are born in China.
- As a result of China’s ‘one child’ policy and its traditional preference for boys – hundreds of thousands of girls and disabled children are abandoned each year.
- Many abandoned infants die from exposure. Others are picked up by gangs and used for begging. The lucky ones go to Chinese orphanages.
- Under-funded and under-staffed, the level of care in many of these orphanages is barely adequate.

COCOA and it’s work in China
Over the years COCOA has been working with selected agencies dealing with hand-picked orphanages.

Funds go directly to pay for the following:
- To sponsor babies and children in long term care or children awaiting adoption. We are currently sponsoring over 100 children.
- To sponsor the cost of medical treatment for cleft palates, hare lips and club feet. This increases the likelihood of a child being adopted.
- To pay for necessities, such as cots and bedding.
- To provide specialist equipment for baby units.
- To pay for staff training.

Through your help, COCOA really can improve the conditions for babies and children in many of China’s orphanages.

From each consumer order (over £100), Sat Europa donated £1 directly to COCOA.
