Satellite Footprints
Here you will find the reception areas (footprints) of the satellites most important for reception of TV and radio programmes in Europe, including the corresponding information on required dish diameter for reception within these zones. The recommendations on dish diameter are based on the use of a perfectly shaped parabolic dish, and of LNBs with a noise ratio of no more than 1.3 dB.

Dependant on the satellite's position in this orbit, e.g. Astra at 19.2° East, and the position of the satellite antenna relative to the East/West and to the North/South direction, two values can be found which are essential in order to position the antenna correctly for the desired satellite, i.e. the "azimuth angle" and the "elevation angle".
