In addition, the high transmit power of the satellite makes it ideal for providing broadcast programmes and multimedia services into very small satellite dishes.

The EUROBIRD™ satellite is built on the basis of the SPACEBUS 3000 B2 platform, equipped with 24 Ku-band transponders with a usable bandwidth of 72 and 33 MHz and a total power of 6 KW. Two fixed antennas will serve mainly the Western and Central European region and 2 steerable spotbeam can be independently steered to any point on the visible Earth. Assembled, integrated and tested and in the clean rooms at the Alcatel Space Cannes Center, EUROBIRD™ has an expected lifetime of more than 12 years.
